1) Keep Designated Recycling Bins Available You should also keep some designated recycling bins throughout your school to encourage students to sort their materials. Keep bins for plastic, paper, and aluminum in your school so that students have a place to recycle these materials after they are finished with them.

2) Keep Paper Bins Nearby Each classroom should have a paper recycling bin to implement the recycling of old papers that are no longer needed. Many students will only use the bins that are right in front of them, as it is the simplest way to get rid of things in their hands. By providing paper recycling bins, you make the act of recycling much easier, and therefore much more common.

3) Compost Cafeteria Leftovers Composting is another great way to reduce food waste. Consider creating composting bins in your cafeteria where students can get rid of any of their food waste before they dump their trays straight into the garbage. This will allow you to reuse the dirt for gardening or landscaping purposes, which can even save you some money in the long run too.

4. Prepare separate containers for the dry and wet wastes. -Wet waste and Dry waste segregation is necessary for every individual because it will help us keep our environment pollution free and also keep the environment healthy. This segregation is essential because it makes the task of recycling dry non-biodegradable waste easier. It also simplifies the conversion of wet waste like leftover food, used tea leaves, etc. to compost. If waste is not separated or segregated properly, it all gets mixed up in landfills

5. Segregate you waste properly. -Separate container for your dry wastes, one for papers, cardboards, metals glass and one for the plastics. When waste is source separated different types of recyclables aren't going to contaminate each other. For example, paper and glass are two easily recyclable materials. However, a smashed bottle can contaminate an entire container of paper and it will all end up in landfill.
