Our Mission
Our mission is to promote proper waste management in this school, and to protect our environment from things that may destroy it because of our own actions. It is our goal to spread awareness amongst our schoolmates in the ways how to segregate their wastes properly and make them realize how big the impact of their small actions could be.

Introduction
By contaminating the water, soil, or air, for instance, improper disposal might have a negative impact on health. Workers in the waste industry, others involved in waste burning, and surrounding communities can all suffer direct harm as a result of hazardous waste or unsafe waste treatment methods like open burning. Poor waste management negatively impacts a variety of habitats and animals while also adding to air pollution and climate change. Methane, a potent greenhouse gas linked to climate change, is released by landfills, which are the last resort in the waste hierarchy.
In a school setting, proper waste segregation among all classrooms is a common issue that is yet to be solved. Specifically, in La Castellana National High School-Senior High, almost all of the classrooms have their own trash bins, yet the main problem is the proper segregation of waste. There are some who utilizes three different trash bins that are classified into biodegradables, non-biodegradables, and infectious wastes. This is definitely a good thing for those classes who knows how to properly throw their garbage—but there are also some who cannot simply segregate well. Every Friday, a garbage truck that is supposed to collect our 'segregated' wastes is left with no choice but also collect those which are not segregated well. This is where 'management' problems occur. This concept paper would be beneficial to everyone in this school and the organization in a way that it would provide a clear and concise plan of improving improper waste disposal issues in the campus premises.

Purpose:
The purpose of why this advocacy will be conducted is to aid in reducing the problems with solid waste around the school campus, make the students of our beloved school aware of the situation and provide as solution to this issue of waste management and yes, as mentioned from the advocacy’s title, in order “to gain something” from the trash the school produces and to encourage students to maintain and practice proper management of wastes for a safe and environmental friendly learning area for all students and teachers alike.
Also one of the purposes of this advocacy as mentioned above is to create a safe, waste free and environmental friendly school for both teachers and students alike, and to attain this advocacy aims to raise the awareness of everyone within the school and outside communities aware of the issue this advocacy is tackling and to encourage those involved within the school competencies in order for them to realize the importance of properly managing the waste segregation and the upkeep of student discipline in order to realize this advocacy’s purpose, this advocacy’s greatest goal.
